Human life is not just an accident of nature, nor is it meant solely for material pleasures, wealth, or status. The scriptures reveal that human life is a rare and precious opportunity granted by the Supreme God for a much higher purpose: to attain liberation (moksha) and reunite with the Supreme God. Unlike animals or other beings, humans have the capacity for self-inquiry, wisdom, and devotion. The purpose of life is to recognize our true identity as souls trapped in the cycle of birth and death and to seek salvation by following the correct spiritual path.
The Bhagavad Gita (2:12) explains that the soul (atma) is eternal and separate from the body. This means that our physical existence is temporary, but our soul continues its journey across many lifetimes. In Rig Veda, Mandal 9, Sukt 95, Mantra 2, it is mentioned that the Supreme God provides the true path of devotion to liberate the soul. However, due to ignorance and attachment to material pleasures, most people remain unaware of this higher purpose and instead chase temporary happiness.
The cycle of birth, death, and rebirth (samsara) is governed by the law of karma, as described in the Bhagavad Gita (4:5). Every soul undergoes countless rebirths due to past actions. The purpose of human life is to escape this endless cycle and return to the eternal realm, Satlok, where the Supreme God resides.
The Rig Veda, Mandal 9, Sukt 20, Mantra 1 states that the Supreme God bestows true knowledge upon pure souls and protects them by freeing them from worldly illusions. This divine knowledge helps a seeker understand that material possessions, relationships, and pleasures are temporary and that only devotion to God can lead to eternal peace.
Likewise in Bhagavad Gita 18:62 the speaker of the Gita instructs Arjun to seek refuge in another Supreme God for ultimate liberation and to achieve the eternal realm.
The scriptures reveal that the Supreme God is Kavir Dev (Kabir), as stated in Rig Veda, Mandal 9, Sukt 96, Mantras 16-20. The Bhagavad Gita (8:9) also refers to the Supreme God as Kavim, which is the same as Kavir Dev or God Kabir. This confirms that worshiping Kabir Saheb through the correct spiritual practice is the only way to attain liberation.
However, true devotion (bhakti) requires guidance. The Bhagavad Gita (4:34) states that one must approach a Tatvadarshi Sant (true saint) to receive correct spiritual knowledge. Likewise Yajurveda 40:10 & 40:13 mentions that one should seek a Tatvadarshi Saint (Dhiranaam) to know about the Supreme God. In the present time, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj is imparting this true knowledge, revealing the correct method of worship, and guiding souls toward salvation.
Many people engage in various forms of religious rituals, but not all forms of worship lead to liberation. The Rig Veda, Mandal 9, Sukt 54, Mantra 3 states that the Supreme God purifies everything and governs all universes. Worshiping Him correctly, as per the scriptures, is essential for salvation. Bhagavad Gita 16.23 warns against worship methods not based on scriptures.
The correct worship includes:
The ultimate purpose of human life is to attain eternal peace by reaching Satlok, the abode of the Supreme God. Unlike this material world, where suffering, disease, and death exist, Satlok is a realm of everlasting happiness and divine presence.
Human life is a golden opportunity to attain the Supreme God and escape the cycle of birth and death. Material achievements, fame, and pleasures are temporary, but devotion to Kavir Dev (Kabir Saheb) leads to eternal bliss. By following the correct method of worship, as taught by Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj, one can fulfill the true purpose of life and attain salvation.
