What is the Correct Method of Worship According to Scriptures?

Minutes to read.

The correct method of worship is the one prescribed by the Supreme God and revealed by a Tatvadarshi Saint, as mentioned in Bhagavad Gita 4.34. True worship must align with the teachings of the Vedas, Bhagavad Gita, Quran Majid, and Shri Guru Granth Sahib, and it should lead to salvation (moksha) and freedom from the cycle of birth and death.

Scriptural Evidence for the Right Worship

  1. Bhagavad Gita 17.23 – Mentions the mantra "Om Tat Sat", indicating that Supreme God’s true mantra must be given by a Tatvadarshi Saint.
  2. Yajurveda 40:10 & 40:13 – States that worship should be guided by a "Dhiranaam" (Tatvadarshi Saint) who knows the Supreme God.
  3. Quran Majid (Surah Al Furqan 25:59) – Advises seeking a Baakhabar (well-informed Saint) for guidance on true worship.
  4. Shri Guru Granth Sahib – Repeatedly emphasizes the importance of Satguru (True Guru) who gives the right way of devotion.

Steps to the Correct Worship

  1. Take Naam Diksha (Initiation) – The Tatvadarshi Saint provides the true mantra of Supreme God (Kabir Sahib), as per scriptures.
  2. Chant the Correct Mantras – The prescribed three-stage mantra given by the True Guru should be recited daily.
  3. Abandon Incomplete and Arbitrary Worship – Idol worship, worship of demigods, and unscriptural practices should be avoided. Bhagavad Gita 16.23 warns against worship methods not based on scriptures.
  4. Follow the Satguru’s Teachings – Live a righteous life with honesty, compassion, and devotion, as guided by the Complete Guru.
